Basketball Recap: Algoma Christian Takes a Loss

Algoma Christian suffered their biggest defeat since January 4, 2024 on Friday. They lost 75-50 to West Michigan Aviation Academy. The Knights haven't had much luck with West Michigan Aviation Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite the loss, Algoma Christian still got an impressive performance from Lucas Bouma, who went 7 for 15 en route to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhys Kehoe, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Algoma Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Algoma Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for West Michigan Aviation Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Algoma Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Zion Christian at 6:15 p.m. on February 24th. Algoma Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season. As for West Michigan Aviation Academy, they will welcome Muskegon Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
