Softball Recap: St. Petersburg Takes a Loss

St. Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 21-8 to the Dunedin Falcons. The Green Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ryann Vigue was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joselyn Castagner, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

St. Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Dunedin, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, St. Petersburg and Dunedin will both be playing Palm Harbor University the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Green Devils will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
