Basketball Game Preview: White Lake Lakers vs. Marion Mustangs

White Lake is 2-8 against Marion since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The White Lake Lakers will square off against the Marion Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

White Lake might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 57-55 to Mishicot, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Bowler. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mustangs have suffered since December 5, 2024.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for White Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Everything came up roses for White Lake against Marion when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for White Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
