Baseball Recap: Oakland Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oakland came into Wednesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against North Douglas by a score of 8-4 on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-3 back in April.

The team relied heavily on Shepard Brooksby, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Alex Vanassche was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Oakland's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for North Douglas, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakland will face off against Myrtle Point at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Douglas, they will venture away from home to challenge Oakridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
