Baseball Recap: Veritas Academy Has No Trouble Against Bracken Christian

Veritas Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bracken Christian, but still couldn't quite topple them. Veritas Academy put the hurt on the Bracken Christian Warriors with a sharp 15-3 victory on Thursday. Veritas Academy's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Sawyer Terry was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. Terry was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Will Gengler was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Austin Layne was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Veritas Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Veritas Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Bracken Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Veritas Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Valor South Austin at 6:30 p.m. on March 14th. As for Bracken Christian, they will take on Burnet at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
