Volleyball Recap: Westwood Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Loyalton Grizzlies. The Lumberjacks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Grizzlies earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Westwood sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-22, 13-25, 25-13, 22-25, 15-6.

Sophia Lemaster paced Westwood's offense, picking up 12 kills. Lemaster got some help from Mayzee Robinson and her 18 assists. Lemaster was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Westwood's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Loyalton, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-10.

Looking ahead, Westwood will venture away from home to take on Paradise Adventist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Loyalton, after both having extra time off, they and Herlong will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
