Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. International Community Comets

The Freedom Patriots just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the International Community Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Freedom is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake Mary just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They were beaten by the Rams 75-39.

Meanwhile, International Community played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 78-54 to Hope Academy. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 515th, while the Trojan Tigers are ranked 229th).

Freedom will have to keep a close watch on Paxton Boaz and Jace Grover, a pair of players who had a big impact on International Community's prior game. Boaz dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards, while Grover went 8 of 12 on his way to 19 points. Those 11 rebounds gave Boaz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Slade Woodruff, who posted seven points.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for International Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
