Basketball Game Preview: Fernley Vaqueros vs. Elko Indians

The Fernley Vaqueros will challenge the Elko Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fernley took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 51-38 win over North Valleys.

Meanwhile, Elko made easy work of Lowry on Saturday and carried off a 60-37 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Fernley is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Elko, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-10.

Fernley strolled past Elko when the teams last played on January 10th by a score of 58-40. Will Fernley repeat their success, or does Elko have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
