Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Dominion Christian's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dominion Christian can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Valwood Valiants on Saturday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Valiants earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Addie Schell paced Dominion Christian's offense, picking up 23 kills. Schell got some help from Caitlyn Watson and her 30 assists. Finally, Scarlett Massengill kept Dominion Christian's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Elizabeth Edenfield, who had 16 digs and two aces. Those 16 digs gave her a new career-high. Annalee Studstill also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

The loss snapped Dominion Christian's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 21-7 record. As for Valwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-10.

Dominion Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valwood, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Brookstone on the 4th.
