Boston English came tearing into Sunday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Newton South Lions. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two runs.

Boston English pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Newton South, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

Boston English does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newton South, they will challenge Maimonides at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
