Thomas Mickels gave up the fewest hits he has since back in March on Monday. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Peoria Notre Dame is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6 otherwise.

Mickels' strong effort led Peoria Notre Dame over Urbana and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Irish are 9-1 against the Tigers going back to April of 2017, a lead they'll look to extend.
