Softball Recap: East Jessamine Jaguars vs. Rockcastle County Rockets
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Taylor County, East Jessamine was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Rockcastle County Rockets by a score of 5-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jaguars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2022.
Remi Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Kylee Huff was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Hillary Stansbury was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
