Volleyball Recap: Wamego Takes a Loss

Wamego was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holton Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Raiders of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Wamego was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Wamego saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emilly Crocker had ten digs and one assist.

Wamego's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Holton, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.

Coincidentally, Wamego and Holton will both be playing Royal Valley the next time they take the court. The Red Raiders will head out to face the Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
