Recap: Katella Knights vs. Tustin Tillers
The Katella Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 69-34 loss at the hands of Tustin. While losing is never fun, Katella can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1066th, while Tustin is ranked 276th).
Katella's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cristian Moreno Garcia, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Dillon Curtis, who scored 15 points.
Katella's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-7. As for Tustin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.
Katella will be home for the holidays to greet Orange at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Tustin will take on Aliso Niguel in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Aliso Niguel is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
