Basketball Recap: Garey Takes a Loss

Garey lost against Azusa back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Garey Vikings were beaten by the Azusa Aztecs 60-27. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Adam Sanchez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Azusa, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds. Sanchez has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Antoine Cueller-Morgan, who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Garey's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Azusa, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garey will welcome Duarte at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Azusa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nogales at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Azusa is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
