Basketball Recap: Giancarlo Romero and Juan Castro Secure Win for Downtown Doral

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calusa Prep, Downtown Doral was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 61-52 win over the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions.

Leading Downtown Doral to victory were Juan Castro and Giancarlo Romero. Castro went 6 of 13 en route to 20 points, while Romero almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Castro's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paolo Guerrero, who posted seven points and five boards.

Downtown Doral has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Immaculata-La Salle, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Downtown Doral will take on iMater Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Downtown Doral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they will challenge Mater Brickell Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Immaculata-La Salle is facing Mater Brickell Academy at the right time seeing as Mater Brickell Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
