Softball Game Preview: Anderson Cubs vs. Lassen Grizzlies

Anderson is 0-10 against Lassen since May of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cubs will challenge the Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. Anderson will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Anderson lost 18-3 to University Prep on Friday.

Caydence Dial made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Madison Clendenen also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Lassen made easy work of Central Valley on Monday and carried off a 15-2 win. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lassen and bumps their season record up to 17-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Anderson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.

Anderson might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Lassen in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Cubs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
