Football Game Preview: Vicksburg Gators vs. Provine Rams + Official Tickets

The Vicksburg Gators will take on the Provine Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Provine took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Vicksburg, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Vicksburg didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Florence, but they still walked away with a 39-35 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gators.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vicksburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamikal Maxey, who threw for 217 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes. Those 217 passing yards gave Maxey a new career-high. Jadarius Henderson helped Maxey out on the ground, rushing for 16 yards and a pair of scores, while also catching one touchdown.

Vicksburg didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Deztin Minor and James Warfield. Wallyss Curry was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Provine came up short against Lanier on Friday, falling 30-8.

Vicksburg's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Provine, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Vicksburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Provine in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, winning 14-6. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
