The Interlachen Rams will challenge the Beachside Barracudas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Interlachen has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Interlachen's tournament run continued when they took on Peniel Baptist Academy on Thursday. The Rams lost 11-5 to the Warriors.
Baileigh Riddley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Creel, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Beachside hadn't done well against Ponte Vedra recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Barracudas walked away with a 12-8 win over the Sharks. Beachside's victory was all the more impressive since the Sharks were averaging only 3.73 runs allowed on the season.
The team relied heavily on Kyleigh Kendall, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Mallie Meadows was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Beachside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Interlachen has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Beachside, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.
Beachside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Interlachen has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Beachside, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Interlachen's sizable advantage in that area, the Barracudas will need to find a way to close that gap.
Interlachen came up short against Beachside when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 13-9. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
