Cedar put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Richfield Wildcats by a score of 49-41. For the Reds, this counts as revenge for the 42-25 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Everett Kelling was his usual excellent self, rushing for 164 yards and four scores on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 231 yards and one TD. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braxton Demille, who rushed for 141 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cedar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 208 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Cedar's record now sits at 7-0. As for Richfield, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cedar will challenge rival Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Kelling and Ryder Miller. Meanwhile, Richfield is set to take on their familiar foe Juab at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
