Baseball Game Preview: Random Lake Rams vs. Kewaunee Storm

Random Lake is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Kewaunee is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Rams will welcome the Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Random Lake's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so Kewaunee's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Random Lake's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Clinton. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Kewaunee won against Gogebic [Johnston/Wakefield] on Saturday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Storm walked away with a 7-4 victory over Oconto.

Brett Paulsen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Paulsen was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those hits marked the first that he got this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alec Carlson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Diesel Bosdeck, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Kewaunee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kewaunee's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Random Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
