Football Game Preview: Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley Chiefs vs. Cheney Tech Chargers

The Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley Chiefs will head out on the road to square off against the Cheney Tech Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 139 points over their last three contests.

Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 27) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-32 victory over Notre Dame Prep.

Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley had a senior duo take command as Davion Joe gained 101 total yards and two touchdowns and Robert Metcalfe picked up 95 receiving yards and one touchdown. Sean Crawford got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cheney Tech had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Crusaders 28-2.

The win got Cheney Tech back to even at 3-3. As for Nonnewaug/Lakeview/Shepaug Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
