Softball Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Carroll was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Leo Lions by a score of 3-2. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Carroll saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Schultz, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Schultz has launched this season.

With the defeat, Carroll broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2. As for Leo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Carroll and Leo should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Chargers (ranked 26th) will meet Fort Wayne Snider (ranked 285th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Leo will challenge New Haven at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (16 vs. 314).
