Madison Prep Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Archbishop Shaw Eagles by a score of 80-73. For Madison Prep Academy, this counts as revenge for the 71-48 win Archbishop Shaw walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March.

Despite the defeat, Archbishop Shaw saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Christian Clair shot 57% from beyond the arc en route to 42 points along with seven boards and six assists. Another player making a difference was Phanuel Greer, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Coming up, Madison Prep Academy will challenge Grand Prairie at 7:10 p.m. on the 28th. As for Archbishop Shaw, they will be taking part in a tournament against East St. John at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
