Jayden Ortiz Dazzles in Wheeler Win

Jayden Ortiz's big game helped extend Wheeler's winning streak to seven on Friday. Ortiz turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 220 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run.

Unfortunately for Griffith, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Ortiz. When Ortiz last faced the Panthers back in October of 2023, he rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry.

Gary West Side had to settle for second on Friday, but Ladarrion Newell sure wasn't going down easily. Newell was dynamite, making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Gary West Side has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. Newell and Gary West Side will face off against New Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Guiseppe Moore Makes It Two for Gary West Side

Another Gary West Side player making an appearance on this list is Guiseppe Moore. He rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards.

Calumet New Tech's probably not too fond of Moore given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Moore saw the Warriors), he rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns.

Wheeler Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Bryce Compton

Bryce Compton was instrumental in extending Wheeler's winning streak to seven on Friday. Griffith had no answer to Compton as he picked up 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Compton was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 63 yards.

Compton is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Boone Grove on Friday. Compton picked up 213 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Wolves duked it out back in September.

Big Game from Allen As Calumet New Tech Won 38-36

Rounding off our Top Five is Eric Allen of Calumet New Tech. Allen picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Calumet New Tech now has a winning record of 5-4. They and Mishawaka Marian are set to duel on Friday.
