The Adams Central Flying Jets will face off against the Bluffton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Adams Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Angola, taking the game 13-9.
Adams Central got a massive performance out of Baylee Smith, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brinlee Rinkenberger, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Adams Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Bluffton entered their tilt with New Haven on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 9-6.
Kamryn Ault spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Tressa Renner was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Addison Kauffman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.
Bluffton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-13. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Adams Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-13.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Adams Central hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bluffton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs.
