Baseball Recap: Pickerington Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Groveport-Madison last Wednesday, Pickerington Central came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 8-4 to the Teays Valley Vikings on Monday. The Tigers have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Pickerington Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Metz, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Pickerington Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Teays Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Pickerington Central will square off against Reynoldsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Teays Valley, they will welcome Bishop Hartley at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
