Basketball Recap: Selma Comes Up Short

Selma lost against Sunnyside back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Selma Bears fell to the Sunnyside Wildcats 48-43. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly five points.

Among those leading the charge was Tanner Wilson, who posted 19 points. Frank Castaneda was another key player, putting up ten points.

Selma has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Sunnyside, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Selma will take on Central Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. As for Sunnyside, they will face off against Fresno Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyside also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 50.9 points per game.
