Volleyball Game Preview: Yreka Miners vs. West Valley Eagles

Yreka is 1-9 against West Valley since August of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Miners will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Yreka and University Prep had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Miners came up short against the Panthers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Miners have suffered since September 25th.

Yreka was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when West Valley challenged Central Valley on Tuesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1.

Yreka's defeat dropped their record down to 16-14. As for West Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
