Recap: Umatilla Bulldogs vs. Evans Trojans
The Umatilla Bulldogs stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Evans 59-9 at home. The victory was nothing new for Umatilla as they're now sitting on four straight.
Umatilla's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Herva Brutus, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Jayda Washington was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Umatilla is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Evans, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Umatilla won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against University at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. University is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Evans' road trip will continue as they head out to face Winter Park at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Winter Park will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
