Basketball Recap: Chinle Comes Up Short

Chinle was the 70-67 winner over Page when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chinle Wildcats took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Page Sand Devils on Tuesday. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Sand Devils 13-9 in the first quarter.

It was another big night for Tyree Stingley, who almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists for Page. The match was Stingley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maximus Reid, who posted nine points.

Chinle's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Page, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chinle will welcome Ganado at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chinle is facing Ganado at the right time seeing as Ganado is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Page, they will host Monument Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Page is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
