Basketball Recap: Treutlen Vikings vs. Wilcox County Patriots

It was a good run, but the Treutlen Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 66-47 to Wilcox County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Treutlen in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost four in a row.

Treutlen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being ShaCaria Jackson, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JaNerriah Lovett, who scored ten points.

Treutlen's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Wilcox County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Treutlen won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Swainsboro presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Vikings in Georgia (the Tigers are ranked 75th, while the Vikings are ranked 293rd). As for Wilcox County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Trojans at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Telfair County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
