Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Conestoga Christian's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Conestoga Christian came out on top against Brandywine Heights Area on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Cougars took their game against the Bullets 8-3. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 12-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sawyer Barnett was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Luke Watson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Conestoga Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Brandywine Heights Area, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Conestoga Christian will head out on the road to face off against Antietam at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brandywine Heights Area, they will take on Oley Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
