Recap: Lexington Wildcats vs. Dutch Fork Silver Foxes

It was a good run, but the Lexington Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-43 walloping at the hands of Dutch Fork. Lexington was down 50-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Lexington saw an underclassman step up: Sydni Anderson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Izzy Saville was another key contributor, scoring four points.

Michaela Fairwell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dutch Fork, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Fairwell has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Antoinet Cheeseboro, who scored nine points along with six steals.

Lexington's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9. As for Dutch Fork, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

Lexington's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Dorman on February 12th. Hopefully Dorman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Dutch Fork, they will be playing at home against Cane Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dutch Fork is coming into the matchup with 11 straight victories at home, so Cane Bay is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
