Volleyball Recap: Olpe Gets the Win

After losing to Osawatomie the last time they met, Olpe decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Trojans 2-1.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (69-65) Olpe actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-20, 26-24.

Lilly Skalsky paced Olpe's offense, picking up six kills. Skalsky got some help from Kayla Steinke and her nine assists. Steinke was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Olpe's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Osawatomie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2-1.

Coming up, Olpe will take on Eureka in a tournament on Saturday. As for Osawatomie, they will head out on the road to square off against Baldwin on Tuesday.
