Plant City is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Bloomingdale is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Plant City Raiders will host the Bloomingdale Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Plant City headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Armwood let them put that streak behind them. Plant City never let Armwood get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Saturday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Brenham Hay tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Eli Thomas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Merrick Smith was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Plant City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloomingdale). They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Brandon on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Bloomingdale also got a great performance from Eli Edwards as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Edwards has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Payton Jennings and John Feger did most of the damage at the plate: Jennings went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Feger scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Alvin Cruz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Plant City now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bloomingdale, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Plant City might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Bloomingdale in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Plant City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
