Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Malad walked away with it. They came out on top against the Grangeville Bulldogs by a score of 10-5 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Dragons, who have now won five matches in a row.

Malad let Cale Briggs and Kurt Ward run wild. Briggs got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Ward went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Briggs has posted over his last 12 games. Easton Green was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Malad always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grangeville only posted an OBP of .400.

Malad pushed their record up to 21-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Grangeville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-11.

As of now, neither Malad nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
