Basketball Recap: Deshler Takes a Loss

If Deshler was feeling good fresh off their 47-15 takedown of Giltner last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Deshler Dragons received a blow on Thursday as they fell 68-49 to the Red Cloud Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Red Cloud can attribute much of their success to Josie Faimon, who posted 22 points. The dominant performance gave Faimon a new career-high in points. Josie Rust was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Deshler's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Red Cloud, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Looking ahead, Deshler won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Blue Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Cloud does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
