Baseball Game Preview: Palatine Pirates vs. Fremd Vikings

For the second straight game, Palatine will face off against Fremd. The Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Vikings at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Fremd hit Palatine with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates fell 6-2 to the Vikings. Surprisingly, this marked the Pirates' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Carter Monroe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Toby Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The win keeps Fremd at an undefeated 16-0-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Palatine, they moved to 15-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
