Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Hayes, who posted 16 points and four steals. The match was Hayes' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Newton, who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points.
San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but KIPP University Prep had no problem doing just that last Monday. They blew past the Eagles 70-39. KIPP University Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 31 points or more this season.
San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy better keep an eye on Sergio Murillo. He was instrumental in KIPP University Prep's win, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, Murillo is now averaging an impressive 8.5 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was A'Amir Caston-Welch, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 14 points and eight boards.
San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points per game.
