Volleyball Recap: Hurley Comes Up Short

Hurley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Crane Pirates. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-10, 25-13.

Madi Lansdown was a one-woman wrecking crew For Crane. as she had 11 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Lansdown a new career-high. Peyton Cutbirth also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Hurley's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Crane, their win bumped their record up to 9-11-1.

Coming up, Hurley will challenge Southwest at 5:30 p.m. on the 13th. As for Crane, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Jefferson Independent Day on the 4th.
