Softball Recap: Sangamon Valley/Tri-City's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Sangamon Valley/Tri-City had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the North Mac Panthers a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Storm have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sangamon Valley/Tri-City's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for North Mac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sangamon Valley/Tri-City will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against North Greene at 4:30 p.m. on May 5. As for North Mac, they will take on Greenville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Comets' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
