Football Recap: Jones County Starts Season with Win on the Road

Jones County had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Veterans Warhawks with a sharp 34-12 win. The Greyhounds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warhawks, too.

Jones County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Looking ahead, Jones County will challenge Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Greyhounds' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Veterans, they will square off against Statesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
