Basketball Recap: Za'niyah Alford Key Part of a Team Effort in Yellow Jackets Win

After losing to Brandon the last time they met, Blake decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Blake Yellow Jackets took down the Brandon Eagles 47-31 on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets pushed the score to 38-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Za'Niyah Alford, who posted eight points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriell Duberry, who went 7 of 15 en route to 17 points and six steals.

The win got Blake back to even at 5-5. As for Brandon, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Blake will head out to take on Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brandon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Spoto at 6:30 p.m. Brandon is facing Spoto at the right time seeing as Spoto is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
