Basketball Recap: Southmont Beats Crawfordsville for Their Third Straight Win

Southmont extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ella Barry. The Southmont Mounties breezed by the Crawfordsville Athenians to the tune of 57-27 on Saturday thanks in part to Barry, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 23 points. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Emily Link, who posted ten points and five steals. Those ten points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Crawfordsville still got an impressive performance from Celeste Moore, who earned seven points and eight rebounds. Ally Strickland also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Southmont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Crawfordsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Southmont will face off against Covington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crawfordsville, they will challenge North Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
