Baseball Game Preview: Nation Ford Falcons vs. Clover Blue Eagles

For the second straight game, Nation Ford will face off against Clover. The Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Nation Ford came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Clover, falling 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered against the Blue Eagles since April 6, 2022.

For Clover's part, Kyle Kirkland made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave Kirkland a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Anthony Marano was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Briggs Lessmiester, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The win snapped Clover's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-7 record. As for Nation Ford, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-9.
