Basketball Recap: Tongue River Eagles vs. Big Horn Rams
On Thursday, the Tongue River Eagles faced the Big Horn Rams in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Tongue River walked away with a 56-44 win over the Rams. The victory was familiar territory for Tongue River who now have four in a row.
Big Horn's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Adsit, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Drew Heermann was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Tongue River pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for Big Horn, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tongue River won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Rocky Mountain is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Big Horn, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Rebels at 2:00 p.m.
