Football Game Preview: Battery Creek Dolphins vs. Hanahan Hawks

Battery Creek hasn't had much luck against Hanahan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Dolphins will look to defend their home field against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Battery Creek has given up an average of 30.4 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Battery Creek is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Dolphins had to suffer through a 48-6 loss at the hands of the Bruins. The Dolphins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanahan). They really took it to North Charleston for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-20 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Hanahan's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for Battery Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Battery Creek was taken down by Hanahan 48-13 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Dolphins were down 21-0.
