Football Game Preview: Hialeah Gardens Gladiators vs. Hialeah Thoroughbreds

Hialeah Gardens has gone a perfect 3-0 against Hialeah recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Hialeah Gardens Gladiators will be playing at home against the Hialeah Thoroughbreds at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hialeah Gardens has five straight wins, Hialeah has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, Hialeah Gardens didn't have too much trouble with Braddock as they won 20-6. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Gladiators' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 24th).

Isabelle Castrillo looked great while leading her team to the win, throwing for 196 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 51 yards. Those 196 passing yards gave her a new career-high.

Hialeah Gardens didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Carolyn Lebroc. Lebroc is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: she's made at least five every time she's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Hialeah lost to Coral Gables at home by a 25-6 margin on Thursday.

Hialeah now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hialeah Gardens, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Hialeah Gardens was able to grind out a solid victory over Hialeah in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, winning 14-7. Will Hialeah Gardens repeat their success, or does Hialeah have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
