After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Paintsville, Floyd Central was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Magoffin County Hornets 44-42. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 46-16 win the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.

Ketrin Mays threw for 295 yards and three TDs while completing 78.3% of his passes. Wesley Buck was his top target, picking up 252 receiving yards and a pair of scores. On the ground, Bailey Evans rushed for 42 yards.

The victory got Floyd Central back to even at 1-1. As for Magoffin County, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Floyd Central will head out on the road to take on Pike County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Magoffin County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Perry County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
